DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

Discrimination, inequality and poor governance are key themes in CARE’s poverty-fighting and civil society building work in remote and poor rural areas of Georgia and the wider region.Within its development programmes CARE International in the Caucasus has been trying to eradicate the underlying causes of poverty and achieve sustainable improvement in people’s lives since 1995, when the organization shifted its work from humanitarian to development programmes. Positively affecting the lives of the rural poor, providing key support for the development of rural regions and empowering people to be leaders in their communities have posed CARE’s foremost aspirations for the next years too.
